SAM |

Marie Campana |

Shintaro |

Charles “Charlie” Rutherford |
A bear-like guy with a heart of gold who is SAM’s best friend. A nostalgic and sometimes emotional animal aficionado, he is intelligent and well-read. He studies black history but hates hip hop. He is possibly asexual and makes no attempt at pursuing romantic relationships.

Richie "Moswen" Cleaver |
Richie, the one white guy at the Million Man March, has legally added the African name “Moswen” as his middle name. (The name was given to him by a prankster from Botswana who told him it means “deliverer of justice.” It actually means “light in color.”) Though well meaning, Richie comes across as patronizing and insensitive. He is Shin’s pre-school teacher.

Grace Patterson |
Hyperkinetic Grace is chock full of AZN Pryde. A college student deeply involved with the Asian community, she is very successful at getting people motivated and organized. Grace is strong, opinionated and honest. She is success driven and doesn’t take insults from anybody. Adopted by white Christian parents, Grace is NOT submissive and WILL NOT love you long time. She frequents the same weekly Asian American cultural meetings as SAM.

Simon |
Hot-headed and opinionated, Simon is SAM's impulsive young cousin. Simon often
criticizes SAM's "tree hugging" outlook on life and many a heated debated has
resulted as a consequence. But because he is family, SAM always finds a way to patch
things up. Simon is into import cars, electronic music and telling people what he thinks.
